I posted an article not to long ago about Net Neutrality and how ISPs want to limit and control what you can see on the internet. That is completely ludicrous and outrageous. The Internet is a place where people can express their minds freely and share their idea’s, knowledge, and thoughts! If this get taking away from us then we might as well be thrown back into the early 90s and before when your only connections to the rest of the world was limited and controlled by the TV Media corporations. Don’t let this happen people, don’t let them take away your right to express yourself to the rest of the world.

So, now that I got that out of my system, Google has posted an article to plea with it’s readers to help stop this step backwards in how humanity communicates freely.

“A Note to Google Users on Net Neutrality:

The Internet as we know it is facing a serious threat. There’s a debate heating up in Washington, DC on something called “net neutrality” – and it’s a debate that’s so important Google is asking you to get involved. We’re asking you to take action to protect Internet freedom.

In the next few days, the House of Representatives is going to vote on a bill that would fundamentally alter the Internet. That bill, and one that may come up for a key vote in the Senate in the next few weeks, would give the big phone and cable companies the power to pick and choose what you will be able to see and do on the Internet.

Today the Internet is an information highway where anybody – no matter how large or small, how traditional or unconventional – has equal access. But the phone and cable monopolies, who control almost all Internet access, want the power to choose who gets access to high-speed lanes and whose content gets seen first and fastest. They want to build a two-tiered system and block the on-ramps for those who can’t pay.

Creativity, innovation and a free and open marketplace are all at stake in this fight. Please call your representative (202-224-3121) and let your voice be heard.

Thanks for your time, your concern and your support.

Eric Schmidt”

So there you have it. To all you non-believers. It’s real and it threats the internet. Help stop it!

Don’t know what to expect when calling a Congressional Office? Well I found a site, and I’m sure there are other that help you learn what to expect when calling and ways to help your point get heard.

Since Windows 95 , Autorun allows an inserted CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, or Flash Drive to launch automatically, for example, installing a program when the disc is inserted. This isn’t always a good thing. It’s how some malware and rootkits can be installed without your knowledge.

Bypass:
If you hold down the Shift key while inserting a CD-ROM/DVD-ROM, you can bypass Autorun most of the time. It works in Windows 95 to XP, but not Windows Vista . Even in older versions of Windows it’s not necessarily fail proof.

How to Disable:
To disable Autorun for good in XP/Vista, you need to edit the Registry. The registry can be considered the heart of your computer’s configurations. You should be scared when tinkering around with this if you haven’t backed it up. Use File > Export inside the Registry Editor to save your Registry before you start making changes.

XP: Click the Start button, then go to the Run command.
Vista: Click Start, go to All Programs, and choose Accessories and run Command Prompt

Type regedit and hit Return to open the Registry Editor. (In Vista, you’ll probably have to click OK in the User Account Control warning dialog box.)

Go to the following Registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Cdrom
Double-click on Autorun, and you’ll see a default value of 1. Change it to 0 (zero). Then close the registry editor and restart the computer.

After you go to all this trouble, don’t double-click that autorun.inf file on the disk—it can still run if you do.

AutoPlay:
Autorun should not be confused with AutoPlay, which debuted in Windows XP. The latter features a dialog box that pops up when you insert a CD or DVD filled with electronic media—pictures, music, or video. It will ask you what to do with the data, whether to rip music to iTunes, for example. If the disc is empty, it may ask if you want to write any data to it. You can usually tell XP/Vista not to bother you again when one of these dialogs pops up. If that doesn’t work . . .

In XP, right-click on a drive icon and select Properties. Each removable drive has an AutoPlay tab where you can preset what you want to happen. In Vista, an entirely new control panel exists just for setting global AutoPlay settings. If you turn off AutoPlay everywhere, you can still bring it up when you insert a CD–by holding down the Shift key.

If you have ever lost a password to anything, you know that the forgotten password feature can be a life saver, or a nightmare. Lucky Windows XP has a built in feature to help it’s users with this problem. Here is a link for creating user account recovery floppy. If you haven’t done this, and you are locked out of your computer then you will need to read on.

Disclaimer: No one at Tip Central is responsible for what you do with this information, but I must warn you that using these methods or any methods not listed here to gain unauthorized access to a computer is against the law.

Prevent Forgotten Password

If you have Windows XP or Windows Vista and have gone through the “prevent a forgotten password” mentioned above and have created a diskette, use the diskette created to recover the forgotten password.

Offline NT Password & Registry editor

The Offline NT Password & Registry Editor is a free utility that enables users to overwrite their Windows NT, 2000, and XP SAM file, the file containing their passwords, with a new password. This will not allow a user to view their previous password, however, it will allow the user to gain access to their account again.

Emergency Boot CD

In addition to several other features, the EMCD, or Emergency Boot CD, is a free utility capable of changing the passwords of any user, including the administrator password in Windows NT, Windows 2000, and Windows XP without needing to know the previous password.

Other utilities

There are numerous other free and commercial utilities available for bypassing or changing an unknown password in Microsoft Windows NT, 2000, and XP. The above two utilities are the more popular solutions and are highly recommended. If these utilities do not suit your needs, you may also want to perform a quick search on Google.

Wipe and Reloading your Computer

If all attempts at recovering your account has failed then your only option is to wipe and reload or format and reinstall windows onto your computer. I will soon write an article on how to do this but in the mean time Google should return enough results to help you get the job done. Before you do wipe and reload your computer, you should know that it is possible to recover files off of your computer even though you can not get into your account. More on this in another article.

In this Computer Tip I will tell you about a little feature inside Windows XP and Vista that will help you the next time you have forgotten your user account password.

Both Windows XP and Windows Vista have built in features that allow you to create a floppy disk in the event that you lose access to your user account. If you do not know your password to enter your user account and have not created this diskette please see Tips on Recovering Windows XP User Account Password for information about how to access your account when a password is forgotten.

But if you were smart and thought ahead or read this article and took my advice then you are ready to start recovering your account. If you haven’t created that disk yet, do not wait because this method will not work if you don’t have these floppy disk when you need them. Remember when you created this disk to not leave it to fall in the hands of anyone other than yourself. Lets get started:

Creating the Account Recovery Disk

Open the Control Panel from the Start menu.

In Control Panel open User Accounts by double-clicking the User Accounts icon.

In User Accounts’ top left Related Tasks section click Prevent a forgotten password.

Insert a blank floppy diskette into the computer and click Next.

Type the password for the user you are creating the diskette for and click Next.

Wait until the diskette has completed the process and store the diskette in a place you will remember and safe from anyone else.

Using the Account Recovery Disk

If you were smart and create the Account Recovery Disk then I will show you how to use the disk incase you ever need them. If you have not made this disk and still need to recover you account, you will need to read link here.

At the Windows XP login prompt when the password is entered incorrectly or no password entered at all click the reset button in the login failed window.

Insert the password reset diskette into the computer and click Next.

Windows XP will open a window prompting for the new password you wish to use.

I have recently turned my backyard into a mini-farm. As the world gets older, I fear time will be getting continually worse. I first thought once Bush gets out, things will gradually improve. After reading a new article on Obama, I highly doubt that as well. McCain doesn’t have a chance in hell and he never had my vote in the first place. I was leaning more towards Obama, but not anymore. He is against firearms. Against firearms, although he still employs many security guards that carry concealed weapons to keep him from getting assassinated. Kind of funny, don’t you think?

Going back to my original topic, in my backyard I now have chickens. I average about a dozen of eggs each day. I know that eventually, normal people won’t be able to afford groceries. I can barely even afford gas, let alone groceries. With my hens, I get enough eggs to feed me and the remaining I sell to buy more feed for them. So, it works out really well. When the world falls apart even more, I can live off eggs and chicken.

Have I gotten you interested?

Breeds
If so, here’s what you need to decide next. What breed to get. The breed you decide must reflect your mini-farm. Lets say you opted to get the Yokohama breed. They are a beautiful breed, BUT, they have magnificent tail feathers. They are really long and beautiful. They need lots of care and management to maintain their long tail feathers and to keep them clean. Which means you will be needing a lot more space and a lot more time to take care of them. Other breeds you want to avoid if your space is limited, are giants (Black Giants, Jersey Giants) and any type of Cornish. They get huge.

If you are very limited on space, bantams are a great choice. Just about every breed of chicken has a bantam version. Bantams were bred specifically from the runts of the litters. After years of breeding, you now have miniature breeds. So, if you wanted White Leghorns but don’t have adequate room, go for the bantam version.

Your farm’s purpose?
Another thing to consider for your mini-farm is what purpose will the chickens serve? Are they strictly going to be for eggs, meat, or both? Going back to the White Leghorn, they are one of the top layers. They lay constant in both summer and winter. As for meat though, they aren’t the best. They tend to be a lot slimmer than say Rhode Island Reds. Rhode Island Reds are known as dual purpose birds. They are bred both for meat and eggs. Cornish breeds are bred for meat. Most of them are genetically engineered to grow super fast. I do not recommend these types as your first flock. Since their genes are altered, their legs and breasts grow extremeley fast and result in the chicken just laying there and eating. That’s all they can do. Cornish types require a lot of work. They need special food and medication to help in their leg problems.

My breeds
What breed do I raise? At the moment, my main flock consists of sixteen Barred Rock hens, three Rhode Island Reds, one White Leghorn, and a single Barred Rock rooster to take care of them all. I do have other hens, but they are the ones I’ve raised for meat to sell. On top of that I have over 60 or so 3 week old chicks. They consists of Leghorns, Black Giants, and Barred Rocks. They will be replacing my current flock when their time is over. Good hens laying life lasts 2-3 years. Right now mine are almost 2. By this time next year, my 60 chicks will be laying really good and my current flock will be going into the freezer.

Chicken housing
What type of housing do I use? Well, you may laugh, but it works. At the moment I live in a moblile home with a very small lot. Within the next two years I will be moving my mobile home to 6 acres in the woods. So, until then, my current housing will suffice. I got a really good deal on two chain link dog cages. These are they big types that Lowe’s and Sears sells. I have two 10×10x6 cages. One I got for free and the other I only paid $50. I have a wooden nesting house built inside the first cage. It has double doors with two complete compartments.(The other cage is currently empty. I will be adding a new flock to it soon though.) In each compartment there are three milk crates filled with straw. Another thing I want to mention is that chickens don’t care how much money you spend on them. As long as they are warm, dry, got a comfy place to lay eggs and have a full stomach, they could care less. I see people spending thousands on their chicken house. On top of my cages, I have nylon flight netting to keep them in and the hawks out. Covering half the cage are two tarps. I have stretched them with rope and bungee cords so that rain will run off instead of pool and collapse the roof. So, let’s see. I have a little over $60 in my house and my chickens are happy and produce large to jumbo-sized eggs daily.

Conclusion
In conclusion, do some research before you start your own mini-farm. Select the type of breed you need for the purpose you require. Also, let your space reflect your breed selection as well. Also, remember that you don’t have to spend hundreds or even thousands on a chicken house. As long as they have their needs and are safe from predators. That is all you need. As far as where to get your chickens, I will cover that in my next article.

I know this does not fit in my normal content but it affects all of us. This is the face of our major ISP’s marketing in around four years.

I know it’s hard to read so if you can’t make it out, I’ll summarize this pictures and explain what I mean. So if you like the freedom you have on the Internet as it is right now, then continue reading to find out what threatens it and how you can help to stop it.

I Power is concerned about the future of our Internet, as they should be along with everyone who enjoys to surf the Internet. There are talks that all Major ISPs are discussing a 180 degree change in the way they provide the Internet under NDA’s (Non-Disclosure Agreement.) Lucky a bit of information has leaked from this discussion and I Power has a video explaining the scoop.

So I hope you care enough about having the freedom and ability to actually view my website and watched the entire video. If not then I’ll summarize a bit.

Major ISPs are discussion ways to change the way they provide their users the Internet under the NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) which means that you aren’t suppose to hear about it until it’s to late . They want to wrap all the major websites into a package and offer the ability to view just those sites for a subscription fee. The more websites you want to view, the higher your package is going to cost. This means that websites like myself will no longer exist!

We can not let this happen to our Internet that we have built. They want to tear it down and reduce it to cooperate and commercial media. Visit I Power and learn how to help stop this.

I fail to follow some of these health tips myself. Making changes in your life can be easy to put off and even I’m guilty of that, but the benefits of such changes out weight the effort it takes to put such changes in place, Especially in this article. So take the time to make sure that if and only if you are willing to change your life in a way that is better than even before, you do what it takes to make the changes in your life that will benefit you and everyone around you in the long run, because our lives are short but they are our only chance we get. Why not make the most out of it?

“[Tips] so easy, its laughable. In addition to some form of simple exercise regimen, these ten daily habits worked into your routine can provide you with optimum health, beautiful skin and a trim waistline. It’s not a diet; I didn’t read it anywhere. It’s really just common sense that no one seems to follow.”

In this articles I want to share with you my experiences at livestock auction’s and some tips for first time bidders. Many local farmers gather every saturday at the livestock auction. They come to sell what they can no longer feed. This is when you can really find some good deals.

First Time
For your first time at a livestock auction, it can be overwhelming. First and foremost, get there early. I can’t stress that enough. If you get there early enough, you can get a seat. If not, you’ll be standing for five to six hours. Also, if you get there early enough, you can see what animals are being sold and what condition they are in. As compared to when you are sitting in the main section and they are auctioning off the animals and they can get a bit harder to see. I know that from experience, as I bought a rooster that had a chunk bit out of it by a dog.

Careful not to accidentally bid.
Second, watch what you do. Raising your hand or nodding your head is a verbal binding agreement. So, if you need to scratch your nose or something of the like, just turn your head away and do it. In order to get an auction number, you must provide a driver’s license with current address. Which means, whatever you bid on, you must pay, or they will hunt you down. So, if you accidentally scratched your nose on a $300 cow, and won the bid, you have to pay $300 for your new cow.

Muliple Animals and One Cage
As for multiple animals in a cage, it gets tricky. Roosters are like single men at a swingers party. There are way too many and no one cares much for them. Farmers will bring in 20 roosters at a time in one cage. The auctioneer starts off with a $2 start. The next part is crucial. You must listen very carefully. Most farmers wanting to get rid of their excess roosters will just sell them all for one price. Others wanting a few extra dollars will sell them individually, BUT they will still be all in the cage. In his hurried voice, the auctioneer will say “1 and 20 times your money.” What that means is, if you bid $4 on those 20 roosters, that means you are willing to pay $4 for EACH rooster. Now if the auctioneer says “One money”, you’ll buy them all for only $4. It’s very tricky and hard to get used to at first. So be careful.

Bring a Truck
Also, if you even think you’re going to buy something, bring a truck and a few extra cages. We found a good deal on a turkey once and we only brought Dad’s car. We ended up having to hold down a 50lb turkey in the back of the car for a one hour trip home. On top of that, this turkey wasn’t tame. It was wild. Believe me, it was quite an adventure by the time we got home. Anyway, I hope this article will help you out a bit. I have plenty more to write and plan on posting it fairly soon as I get it organized.

I have lost a lot of weight in the past year, and the reason was because I was more active and eating differently. I found something that I enjoyed to do that was healthy and my eating habits were different also. I want to share my tips on how I lost my weight and had fun doing it.

Bouldering, similar to rock climbing, in a gym on my college campus. I climbed with some friends 3 days a week for anywhere between 1 to 2 hours. Also, since it is a mile walk to class and a mile back, I walked anywhere from 2 to 4 miles a day just going to and from classes.

So find something you enjoy doing, It doesn’t have to be anything to strainuous. Just something that keeps you active, moving and keeps your muscles working.

My eating habits were different too. I didn’t eat if I was going to sleep in the next hour, and I was also eating smaller meals more times a day. This is actually better for you, and you will notice a difference in your overall health. The foods that I ate were the same, except I was eating less junk food (chips, cookies) and drinking less sodas.

What I was eating however isn’t that uncommon. I ate chicken, vegetables, fruits such as strawberries, blueberries, pineapples, and bananas. I also started making sushi, not raw fish however. Me and a lot of friends would get together once or twice a week and make spicy shrimp sushi and California rolls. Don’t get disgusted by sushi! It is really good and good for you.

A combination of walking, climbing, and eating less food more often helped me lose about 35 pounds. After losing that weight I feel healthier and happier. So ponder on some activities that you enjoy doing and start! Doing that and a combination of my diet tips will help you lose weight, have fun, and feel better overall.
